Garden Of Earthly Delights Canvas Print, Middle Panel Hieronymous Borsh.
Hieronymus Bosch (1450 – 9 August 1516) was a Dutch/Netherlandish painter from Brabant. He is one of the most notable representatives of the Early Netherlandish painting school.
This is the middle panel of his most famous work, "The Garden Of Earthly Delights". Borsh grew up at a time of deep religious anxiety. There was a genuine fear that demonic forces lived amoung the population.
Devotion and fear were intertwinded, and many of his paintings portray nightmarish grotesque unsettling images.
The middle panel portrays lots of naked people frolicking, mainly in acts of lust and gluttony. Can you spot the cute cat unicorn, the people crawling into an egg, and the multi legged dancing owl?
