Jesse James was born on September 5, 1847 in Clay County, Missouri, USA as Jesse Woodson James. He was married to Zerelda Mimms. He died on April 3, 1882 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He was murdered by members of his own gang, for the "dead or alive" reward placed on Jesse and his brother Frank.

★ Notorious western outlaw who fought during the Civil War with a Confederate guerrilla band called Quantrill's Raiders
★ He killed 17 people and was involved in the deaths of another 170.
★ Was shot twice in his lifetime and was missing the top of his left middle finger.

When his assassin Robert Ford was murdered in 1892 by Edward O'Kelley, O'Kelley was pardoned due to a petition with over 7,000 signatures asking for his release.

Lived under the alias "Tom Howard" and pretended to be a businessman.

At the time of his death, there was a $10,000 bounty on his head.
