Hector Giacomelli (April 1, 1822 in Paris December 1, 1904 in Menton), was a French watercolorist, engraver and illustrator, best known for his paintings of birds.

When he was 30 years old, a serious illness forced Giacomelli to go away from Paris. He then started to draw and paint plants, insects and birds around his new and spectacular house. Making much money in Paris, he developed a passion for the work of Auguste Raffet, whose catalogue of works he published in 1862. He also worked with Gustave Doré.
